Non-Gaming Hotel opens in Reno
A new hotel in the heart of Nevada hopes to draw in a new kind of tourist to Reno.
Hotel owners have recently completed a refurbishment and the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in downtown Reno recently opened its doors to tourists. The new hotel replaces the Siena Hotel Casino and is opening as a non-gaming hotel.

The new building has been expanded along the Truckee River with a restaurant deck to accommodate up to 90 guests. Features include fully renovated bars, restaurant, rooms and recreation area. The former casino area now boasts family friendly entertainment options.
President Mike Kazmierski, President of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada says the new hotel is a testament to the city’s growth and expects it to draw in a new kind of Reno tourist.
Managing Partner Fernando Leal says they expect to hire more employees than the Siena had. The hotel will host a grand opening event May 17.
